EXECUTIVE FUNCTION COACHING
Jonathan Bemis, Ph.D., is a certified executive function coach and a former professor at Southern Methodist University. Throughout his extensive career in higher education and as a parent, he has cultivated a strong passion for assisting students who face executive function challenges. These challenges may include issues with planning and completing assignments, initiating tasks, maintaining focus, communicating with teachers, or breaking down complex tasks into manageable steps. For students dealing with these obstacles, he creates personalized plans designed to help them acquire the skills necessary to excel in an academic setting. For families struggling to support their students, he creates systems that encourage structure and accountability in tackling tests and assignments. With his background in teaching at the university level, he is exceptionally positioned to guide middle and high school students in becoming confident, independent learners as they progress to the next stage of their education. Since Dr. Bemis’s expertise has included a variety of learning environments and a diverse range of students, from middle-schoolers to adults, he is skilled in adapting his approach to meet the unique needs of the student in front of him. Whether in person, online, or hybrid settings, Dr. Bemis tailors his strategies to ensure that students receive the guidance and support they need to overcome their executive function challenges and build on their unique strengths.
